Discount Travel - Finding Low Airfares
 by: Brandon C. Hall

Unless you are planning a short domestic trip, the cost of airfare is usually a deciding factor in an overseas trip. Most people with moderate incomes simply can’t afford to fly regularly, as much as they would like to. There are, however, some people out there who are flying all the time on regular incomes. The secret to achieving this is a willingness to be flexible and shop around with airfares, as well as employing some tried and true discount travel techniques.

The key to getting a cheap flight is to shop around, and the internet makes this easy for almost anyone to do. There are a plethora of websites that will conduct searches around the world for cheap airfares. Although the internet is a valuable tool in discovering cheap airfares, it’s important that you don’t rely on it entirely. Many sites claim they are searching “all flights” for the cheapest possible fare, but you really don’t have any way of knowing what they do and don’t have access to. Oftentimes the cheapest flights can come from the airlines themselves, and you’d be well advised to check their sites as well in your search.

Discount Travel - The Idea Of Staying Put

Discount Travel - The Idea Of Staying Put
 by: Brandon C. Hall

Due to the high costs involved, most people don’t travel nearly as much as they would like too. Unless you are well off, chances are that traveling is something you only do a handful of times in your life, and there is therefore a tendency to try and get as much out of the experience as possible. There is, of course, nothing wrong with this idea, but a slight shift in your priorities can save you a lot of money, and once you learn some discount travel techniques you will be able to travel not only more often but in more interesting ways.

Because most people travel rarely, they naturally want to see as much as they possibly can in a foreign country. When happens when you do this though, is that you end up traveling quite a lot when you are in the country - traveling when you are traveling, as it were - which makes your trip much more expensive. No matter where you are, bus tickets, train fares and car rentals are always going to be relatively expensive. One of the best things you can do to lower your trips cost’s is to stay put for awhile, and explore areas around your location more closely.

Add Some White Water To Your Next Adventure Vacation

Add Some White Water To Your Next Adventure Vacation
 by: Charles Brown

Sometimes I will meet someone who appears to lead a happy and fulfilling life. but then I discover this person has never been white water rafting and I realize it’s all a mirage. No one who has never taken an adventure vacation that includes riding the white water can truly be happy.

”Oh sure,” you may be thinking, “isn’t white water rafting dangerous?”

Well my timid, rubber-spined, cowardly friend; danger is a relative thing. Your drive to and from the river will be far more dangerous, and a much more death defying feat, than your actual time on the river. I actually have no statistics to support this other than the fact that everyone knows that everything is more dangerous than driving. So consider yourself appeased.

But it is clear that white water rafting has the appearance and feel of danger. It is a sport designed to make the adrenaline pump through your bloodstream like jet fuel and make you feel like Indiana Jones and James Bond rolled up into a single being.

Alicante Is More Than Merely A Runway

Alicante Is More Than Merely A Runway
 by: Michael Hanna

Alicante is perhaps best known as the gateway to the Costa Blanca, famed more for its airport than for the tourist trapping provided by more familiar neighbours, Benidorm and Denia. Most visitors to Alicante use the town as an arrival and departure point, not stopping long enough to see what the area has to offer. But whilst the bright lights of the aforementioned neighbours beckon for most, Alicante is beginning to garner a reputation for having more to offer than the biggest airport for charter flights in Spain.

Alicante offers a more subtle break in the Costa Blanca. The beaches and coastal attractions remains constant in the region, but the area is slightly more laid back than its’ noisy neighbour. Alicante has moved upmarket in recent years with a multitude of exclusive restaurants and bars popping up around the marina and commercial port area. The boulevard meanders pleasantly past the marina and beachfront area which merges into the charming Old Quarter.

Niagara Falls–Worth The Trip?
 by: Lila Kahn

For years Niagara Falls has been one of the most popular tourist destinations in the United States and Canada. Visitors from abroad and North America cannot seem to shake their desire to visit this dramatic aquatic spectacle. But why exactly? The falls are not particularly convenient to any major U.S. city (apologies to Buffalo), which means visitors to the US will need at least two days to fit in a visit to Niagara. Furthermore besides the actual falls themselves, there is little in the way of cultural or natural points of interest in the area. That is unless you consider a visit to ‘Ripley’s Believe it or Not’ to be a cultural experience. Finally, the climate in the Niagara region is rather daunting for much of the year. The area gets a lot of precipitation throughout the year and winter is definitely rugged in that region.

Save Money On Your Walt Disney World Trip
 by: Richer Brat

My family visit Walt Disney World several times a year. The biggest question we are often asked is “How Do You Afford It”. There is no simple answer to this question - We save money and make money for our Disney trips in many different ways. You can find more mays to make money to fund you’re trip by going to http://www.richerbrat.com and signing up for the FREE Brat Insider Newsletter. You can do the same. If you really want something badly, you’ll get it. Read on.

Tip 1 - We always buy annual passports. An annual passport enables you to visit all four Walt Disney World theme parks as many times as you want in a given year. So, if your first visit with the pass begins on 14th October, you could visit the following year on 1st October, and your park admissions the second year would already have been paid for.

What are the Must-see attractions in Orlando?
 by: John Higgins

Orlando, Florida is filled with attractions for vacationers of every age group; it is known for its beaches, golf courses, night life, museums, restaurants, and theme parks. Three all-time tourist favorites include Disney World, Busch Gardens, and Universal Studios, Florida.

Disney World:

The home of Mickey Mouse, Goofy, and Donald Duck is a perennial favorite with not just kids for whom it offers a mind boggling range of things to see and do. The overwhelming extent of experiences that Disney World offers ensures that adults too have a great time. Accommodation at Walt Disney World, which has over twenty hotels, offers a choice to suit every wallet. The Disney Animal Kingdom Lodge and the Disney Contemporary Resort are two of the most popular resorts with a unique theme and excellent service. Vacationers can take advantage of the various promotional packages offered by Disney World from time to time. In one visit, it is not possible to take in all the rides and get one’s fill of everything that Disney World has to offer; however there are some classic rides such as Space Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Peter Pan, Primeval Whirl, etc. The Magic Kingdom, which is spread over 100 acres, can be accessed via the Monorail or the Steamer. It has several attractions of which the chance to pose with Disney characters and getting their autographs is high on the wish-list of many children. It is best to enjoy Disney World in the company of a local acquaintance who can point out the major attractions and also the early-entry days during which hotel-guests are allowed to enter early.

Roadtripping Across America

Roadtripping Across America
 by: Charles Brown

Right now I am reading a truly wonderful book that I highly recommend. It is Reader’s Digest Most Scenic Drives in America (from now on I’ll be calling it RDMSDIA because I’m way too lazy to type that long a title every time).

As you might have already imagined, RDMSDIA portrays over 120 extremely beautiful road trips, and after reading this book, I want to take every single one of them.

So let’s see, where would I start? Maybe I could begin on the west coast where I could take the North Cascades Loop, a 400 miles circular trek that takes Hwy 20 through te North Cascade Mountains National Park, the Wanatchee National Forest and back up along the Puget Sound.

Much of this road trip was not even possible until 1972, when a highway was finally built through the rugged Northern Cascades.

Next, I might take the Big Sur road trip along the northern coast of California. This road trip has long been on my to-do list, and after reading this book I have to wonder why I have been putting it off for so long.

Castle-like B&B on Oregon Coast Changes Name

Castle-like B&B on Oregon Coast Changes Name
 by: Andre’ Hagestedt

The stunning, castle-like bed and breakfast formerly called St. Bernard’s Bed & Breakfast now has a new name. St. Bernard’s has added another business partner, changed its name to Arch Cape House, and is in the middle of other shifts in direction.

This fall, owner Barbara Dau joined forces with a new business partner, on-and-off Arch Cape resident Robert Shaw. The result was St. Bernard’s B&B becoming Arch Cape House and an array of other interesting plans.

The upscale lodging - just south of Cannon Beach, in Arch Cape - has a distinctive architecture, built to resemble something between a castle and northwest ski lodge. It boasts gourmet, home-cooked breakfasts, a wine social hour, and unique rooms filled with antiques.

The new name is designed to make it easier to remember and identify the lodging’s location, said Shaw. The new name also works better with their revamped website, www.archcapehouse.com, allowing web surfers to more quickly notice the location.

“There’s a new partner, a new website, and we just thought it was a good time to change everything,” said Shaw. “We’re just trying to really let people know where we are and that here they can get great food, hospitality and that unique architecture - all overlooking the beaches of Arch Cape.”

Making Memories Last a Lifetime

Making Memories Last a Lifetime
 by: World Choice Travel

After every vacation it’s great to have pictures and small souvenirs that bring back memories of your vacation. One fabulous way to create these memories is by making a scrapbook on your family vacation. While eliminating, “Honey, where were we again when this was taken?”, it also gives your children (toddlers and up) something to do on a rainy day.

To start out with, get your children in the habit of saving one thing from each place you visit. It can be anything from a napkin to a restaurant, postcard from a national park, or your children’s drawings of the theme park your family has just visited. Another great tip is bring along a disposable camera for your children. It’s a great inexpensive way to allow your children to feel included, at the same time getting their point of view of the trip.

On a rainy day (hopefully you won’t have any of those) or a night where you and your family want to take it easy, start putting your scrap book together. The essential elements that are needed can easily be brought with you: photo-album or scrap book, scissors, glue, construction paper, stickers and markers. If you feel really ambitious, take the film that has already been used to a 1-hour film-developing center.
